Batam, November 20 — In a significant crackdown, Batam authorities demolished four semi-permanent buildings in Kampung Madani (formerly Kampung Aceh) identified as hubs for drug transactions. The operation involved 150 personnel from the police, military, Satpol PP, and Ditpam BP Batam, led by senior officers including Kompol Zainal Abidin Christopher Tamba and AKBP S.A. Kurniawan. The initiative is part of Indonesia’s broader anti-drug program under the 100-Day Asta Cita policy.
The operation targeted Kampung Madani, a notorious area for drug-related activities in Batam’s Sei Beduk district. The demolition is a response to Indonesia’s national anti-drug policy, aiming to eradicate illegal drug use and pave the way for safer community environments. The initiative aligns with plans to transform the area into a clean, drug-free zone to attract investments.
On November 18, 2024, 150 personnel from Polresta Barelang, Satpol PP, Ditpam BP Batam, TNI, and police forces carried out the demolition. The operation was led by senior officers, including Kompol Tamba and AKBP Kurniawan.

Four semi-permanent buildings used for drug transactions and consumption were destroyed using tools like saws and hammers. Police discovered drug paraphernalia, highlighting the extent of illegal activity in the area.
Linawati, a repeat offender and key drug dealer in the area, was arrested on November 16. She admitted to using her property as a hub for methamphetamine transactions and drug use.
The operation follows direct orders from Kapolda Kepri and is part of Indonesia’s 100-Day Asta Cita program, emphasizing a national commitment to combating drug abuse.
