Batam, November 20 — Linawati, a 47-year-old repeat drug offender, was arrested in Kampung Aceh, Batam, for selling methamphetamine (sabu) and renting rooms in her boarding house for drug use. This marks her third arrest related to drug trafficking, with previous charges dating back to 2013. The police raid also uncovered meth remnants and paraphernalia, highlighting her active role in facilitating drug-related activities in the area.
Linawati, known for her involvement in drug trafficking in Kampung Aceh, was arrested following a police raid at her boarding house. This location had become a hub for drug sales and use. Despite previously serving jail time for trafficking 15,000 ecstasy pills in 2013, she resumed illegal activities, including selling meth and renting out rooms for drug use.
Police detained Linawati on November 16, 2024, after discovering her boarding house was being used for meth sales and consumption. Meth remnants and paraphernalia were found on-site, alongside two male suspects, Aji and HS, who tested positive for drug use.

Linawati sold meth in small packages for Rp 100,000 (S$8.30) each and rented rooms for drug use at Rp 10,000 (S$0.83) per session. She admitted to earning around Rp 100,000 daily from her illicit operations.
In 2013, Linawati was arrested for trafficking 15,000 ecstasy pills. Despite serving time, she resumed illegal activities within five years. This latest arrest marks her third drug-related offense.
On November 18, authorities demolished Linawati’s boarding house and three adjacent properties also linked to drug activities. This move is part of a broader effort to curb drug trafficking in Kampung Aceh.
