PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk from Indonesia, in partnership with global resource company Glencore, has signed a deal with Shell Singapore Pte. Ltd. (SSPL) to acquire the Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Singapore (SECP). This move marks a significant shift in the regional energy landscape.
This acquisition involves a major oil refinery and chemical assets in Singapore, highlighting Chandra Asri Group’s and Glencore’s strategic expansion efforts in the Southeast Asian market.
The acquisition includes a crude oil refinery with a processing capacity of 237,000 barrels per day and an ethylene cracker capable of producing 1.1 million metric tons annually located in Pulau Bukom, Singapore.

Chandra Asri and Glencore have formed a joint venture, CAPGC Pte. Ltd., primarily owned by Chandra Asri Group, to manage the acquired assets.
The integration of these new energy and chemical platforms in Singapore with Chandra Asri’s existing facilities in Cilegon, Indonesia, aims to enhance product offerings and service expansions.
The successful acquisition is expected to capture new opportunities in the rapidly evolving Southeast Asian market, reinforcing Chandra Asri’s position as a regional leader in chemicals and infrastructure.
