Batam to Host International Marching Band Competition to Attract Global Tourists

The inaugural Batam International Marching Arts Competition (BIMAC), organized by the Batam City Culture and Tourism Office, is scheduled for October 11-13, 2024. This event aims to draw international tourists and enhance Batam’s reputation as a top travel destination.


Set against the vibrant backdrop of Batam, the Batam International Marching Arts Competition (BIMAC) will showcase performances and parades from various marching bands from Indonesia and neighboring Malaysia, marking Batam’s latest effort to attract international tourists through cultural and entertainment events.


The competition will commence on October 11 with a parade at Alun-Alun Engku Putri, featuring performances from the entrance at Bank Indonesia all the way to the city square. Ardiwinata, head of Batam’s Culture and Tourism Office, highlighted the event’s potential to become a staple annual attraction enhancing the city’s cultural landscape.
