In an ambitious effort to support the development of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and other national strategic projects, BP Batam has placed a significant emphasis on ensuring the availability of electric power, highlighting the critical role of energy in driving economic and infrastructural growth.
Through its Development Center for Free Trade Zone and SEZ, BP Batam, led by Irfan Syakir, is actively seeking full support from the National Gas Company (PGN) and the State Electricity Company (PLN) to meet the burgeoning energy demands of strategic projects, including the Nongsa Digital Park SEZ and the Rempang Eco-City program.
A variety of strategic projects are currently underway, from the establishment of a Data Center in the Nongsa Digital Park SEZ to the construction of new homes for those affected by the Rempang Eco-City development, requiring substantial energy support, both in terms of water and electricity.
Irfan Syakir highlighted the importance of anticipatory steps to secure energy availability in the future, emphasizing that the strategic activities and programs like SEZ development and the Rempang area demand significant energy support.

BP Batam is pressing forward with the construction of four model homes for those impacted by the Rempang Eco-City development, with plans to build 961 additional new units, necessitating a considerable electricity supply.
BP Batam aims to ensure that investments remain uninterrupted by securing a reliable energy supply, with PLN and PGN positively responding and committing to meet the electricity demands for both the Data Center SEZ and Rempang in the future.
The focus on electricity availability is part of BP Batam’s broader strategy to facilitate investment and development in the region, with energy security being a cornerstone for the successful realization of these projects.
