The Batam City Government is engaging 40 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to showcase their products at the newly established Souvenir Center in Mega Mall, located conveniently near the international port in Batam Center. This initiative, led by the Head of the Batam City Industry and Trade Agency (Disperindag), Gustian Riau, aims to provide visitors with a diverse selection of Batam’s unique local products.
The Souvenir Center, previously located at MB2, has relocated to a more strategic location due to its proximity to the international port, offering greater visibility and access to both domestic and international visitors. This move is seen as a significant opportunity to enhance the local economy and promote Batam’s cultural heritage through its local products.

To introduce the new Souvenir Center to visitors, the Batam City Government plans to distribute brochures and conduct promotional campaigns to encourage both domestic and international tourists to visit and shop at the center.
The center features a variety of products from local SMEs, including processed foods, fashion items, and handicrafts, all offered at affordable prices without compromising on quality. This initiative supports local businesses by providing them a platform to reach a broader market.
Jefridin Hamid, the Secretary of Batam City, highlights the Souvenir Center as a new attraction for tourists visiting Batam. The center not only serves as a shopping destination but also as a cultural showcase that represents the diversity and creativity of local artisans.
