Indonesian students have showcased their mathematical prowess by securing gold medals at the International Mathematics Exam Center (IMEC) 2024, held from April 14-21 in Sydney, Australia.
The IMEC 2024 event in Sydney saw Indonesian students excel, with Ronald Rauf Nurima leading the pack by winning gold against competitors from countries like Australia, the UK, and China. This competition highlights Indonesia’s commitment to fostering talent in STEM fields among its youth.
Ronald Rauf Nurima, a tenth grader from Sekolah Insan Cendikia Madani, won the gold medal at IMEC 2024, competing against students from prominent countries in mathematics.

Alongside the IMEC, the Junior English Olympiad (JEO) was also held, where Rezvan Arshaq Ardana from Kesatuan Bangsa School in Yogyakarta captured another gold for Indonesia.
The victories were warmly welcomed by the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra, underlining the importance of these achievements in promoting Indonesia’s educational standards on an international stage.
Mukhamad Najib, the Education and Culture Attaché at KBRI Canberra, emphasized the immense confidence and invaluable experience gained by the students participating in such international platforms.
