In 2024, the Batam Authority (BP Batam) remains committed to prioritizing infrastructure development, with a focus on roads, clean water supply, container ports, and airports.
Batam’s infrastructure development plans are designed to accommodate the growing number of road users, enhance logistic flows, and strengthen its industrial and economic potential.
Muhammad Rudi, the Head of BP Batam and Mayor of Batam, emphasizes road development as a primary focus to support investment areas and address the increasing volume of road users.

BP Batam’s 2023 road development projects include Jalan Hang Jebat, Jalan Koridor Utama Pelabuhan–Bandara, and Jalan Yos Sudarso. Further road expansion efforts are planned across Batam.
Additional projects encompass water treatment at Waduk Muka Kuning, flood control drainage in Batuaji, and the construction of the VIP building at Hang Nadim Airport. BP Batam also prioritizes the development of the Rempang Eco-City.
BP Batam’s 2024 work program includes maritime connectivity projects such as the revitalization of Batu Ampar Terminal Harbor, replacement of pontoons at Sekupang Domestic Passenger Terminal, and the revitalization of the Curah Cair Kabil Harbor basin.

In the air connectivity sector, the alternative road to Bandara (MYC) is in development, alongside road and drainage projects on the island. Tourism and cultural initiatives include the development of Taman Kolam Sekupang and Taman Rusa Sekupang.
