The Batam City Government has awarded PT Mcdermott and PT Vetco Gray for their crucial role in reducing stunting rates in the city, acknowledging their effective Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
In a significant move to address the health crisis of stunting, Batam City has seen a remarkable decline in stunting rates, attributing this success to the involvement and CSR efforts of PT Mcdermott and PT Vetco Gray.
The declining stunting rates in Batam, which have significantly dropped from 7.21% in 2020 to 1.90% in 2023, indicate effective strategies and collaborations between the government and corporations.

PT Mcdermott, as part of its CSR, adopted 20 children in Tanjungsengkung, providing them with nutritious food packages worth Rp 840,000 per month for six months.
The focused efforts have led to a substantial decrease in stunting cases in Batam’s Batuampar area, from 112 children in 2022 to 76 in 2023.
Both companies’ CSR programs have been instrumental in supporting national priorities to combat stunting, thus contributing to healthier generations.

The city’s dedication to tackling stunting has been recognized at the national level, earning fiscal incentives from the central government for its successful strategies.
