The Natuna Regency in the Riau Islands Province of Indonesia has been granted an allocation of Rp800 billion from the National Budget (APBN) to foster local community welfare and infrastructure development.

The substantial budget, including Special Allocation Funds (DAK) and other ministerial grants, was secured following a series of meetings by Natuna’s Regent, Wan Siswandi, with various Directorates-General and Ministries.

Wan Siswandi expressed gratitude to the central government for this unprecedented APBN funding, aimed primarily at enhancing Natuna’s welfare and infrastructure.

Key projects slated for development include the Batu-Kelarik Road, the Serasan and Pulau Sabang Mawang Ring Roads, and the construction of a Water Treatment Plant (IPA) in SPAM Sedanau.

Specific funding allocations include Rp41 billion for Pulau Laut, highlighting the extensive reach of this budget across various regions in Natuna.

This achievement is also attributed to the support from the Riau Islands Provincial Government, a critical factor in these developmental strides.

The APBN funds are especially crucial considering the reduction in Natuna’s local budget (APBD), indicating the importance of this financial injection for the region’s rapid infrastructure progress.

The large-scale infrastructure development in Natuna funded by the APBN heralds enhanced accessibility and improved facilities, making the island a more attractive destination for tourism and trade.

With the injection of a massive Rp800 billion from Indonesia’s National Budget, Natuna in the Riau Islands is set for significant infrastructure and welfare improvements.
