Ye’s Jakarta concert draws 70,000 fans and generates estimated Rp600 billion economic activity.

Ye’s concert at Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta on October 24 attracted tens of thousands of domestic and international spectators, with officials estimating substantial economic activity and high hotel occupancy around the venue.

Concert Generates Rp600 Billion in Economic Activity
Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana said Ye Live in Jakarta, held at Gelora Bung Karno on October 24, 2026, was estimated to have generated around Rp600 billion in economic activity. Citing data from concert promoter Raw Vision Collective and the Jakarta chapter of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI), she said the estimate covered ticket sales, food purchases, merchandise and transactions involving micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

25,000 International Visitors Attend
Around 70,000 spectators attended the concert, including approximately 25,000 international visitors from 80 countries. The seven largest foreign visitor markets were Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and China, showing the concert’s ability to attract travelers from across the region and beyond.

Nearby Hotels Approach Full Occupancy
The influx of concertgoers also benefited Jakarta’s accommodation sector, with hotel occupancy around the concert area reportedly approaching 100 percent. The event involved roughly 5,000 workers, including production crews, backstage staff, operational personnel, and other workers supporting the concert.

Tourism Ministry Supports Event Preparations
Indonesia’s Tourism Ministry supported preparations through recommendations related to event permits, visas, immigration facilitation, and customs requirements for concert equipment. The ministry also coordinated with the Jakarta provincial government and organizers ahead of the event as part of its efforts to facilitate major international events.

Indonesia Targets More International Events
Widiyanti said international concerts can stimulate multiple sectors at once, including hotels, restaurants, transportation, MSMEs, and employment. The Tourism Ministry has supported more than 25 international events during 2026, with the government seeking to strengthen Indonesia’s position as a destination for international music events and develop music tourism as a source of sustainable economic value.

Ye’s Jakarta concert demonstrates how a major international performance can generate economic activity extending well beyond ticket sales, benefiting hotels, businesses, workers, and tourism services. For Indonesians, the estimated Rp600 billion impact highlights the commercial potential of large-scale music tourism. For Singaporeans, who were among the seven largest groups of international visitors to the concert, Jakarta’s expanding international event calendar also adds another nearby option for entertainment-driven travel.
