Erlita Amsakar says national exhibition strategies could strengthen promotion of Batam-made craft products.
Batam’s local craft promotion could take new cues from Kriyanusa 2026, where regional artisans are showcasing not only their products but also how creativity, presentation, and marketing can help expand market reach.
Kriyanusa Becomes Promotion Reference
Dekranasda Batam Chair Erlita Amsakar said Kriyanusa 2026 provided an opportunity to directly observe how artisans from different regions promote their craft products. After attending the exhibition opening at the Jakarta Convention Center on September 26, she said promotional strategies used at the national level could serve as references for strengthening the marketing of Batam’s craft and MSME products.
Batam Products Target Wider Markets
Erlita said stronger promotion and marketing are important if local products are to reach consumers beyond Batam. She hopes strategies adapted from Kriyanusa can help Batam-made crafts and MSME products gain broader recognition while supporting the growth of the city’s MSME economy.
Exhibition Runs Through September 30
Kriyanusa 2026 is being held from September 26 to 30 under the theme “Cipta Kriya Berkelanjutan, Perajin Mendunia.” The exhibition brings together craft products from different regions and is intended as a platform for developing Indonesia’s craft industry and creative economy.
Competitions Encourage Better Presentation
The event also includes the Lomba Kriya Potensial and Lomba Stand Terbaik, which are designed to encourage creativity, product quality, innovation, and stronger presentation. The competitions also encourage participants to strengthen their ability to present and market craft products.
Networking and Market Learning Highlighted
Erlita also described Kriyanusa as a learning and networking opportunity for MSME participants, allowing them to exchange experiences and identify potential markets. The exhibition was officially opened by Dekranas Chair Selvi Gibran Rakabuming, with representatives from the national and regional Dekranas organizations also attending.
For Batam and other Indonesian MSMEs, the Kriyanusa experience gives Dekranasda Batam a practical reference for improving product promotion, presentation, networking, and market outreach. For Singaporean readers following Batam’s local economy, the initiative offers a look at how the city is seeking to strengthen the visibility of its homegrown craft and MSME sector.
