BP Batam promotes Batam as a fast, reliable execution hub for advanced manufacturing
As global manufacturing shifts toward speed, certainty, and technological integration, Batam is positioning itself as a practical solution for investors seeking ready-to-execute industrial platforms in Southeast Asia.
Strengthening Batam’s Global Manufacturing Profile
The Deputy for Investment and Business Development of BP Batam, Fary Djemy Francis, attended the SMF Manufacturing Day Summit 2026 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, on Friday, January 30, 2026. The participation followed an official invitation from the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) and formed part of BP Batam’s broader strategy to promote Batam as a ready-to-execute manufacturing and investment platform in Southeast Asia.
Industry 5.0 and Regional Collaboration in Focus
The summit gathered industry leaders, regulators, and investors to discuss manufacturing transformation in the Industry 5.0 era, including artificial intelligence integration and supply chain resilience. SMF President Lennon Tan opened the forum by stressing the importance of technological collaboration and industrial talent development to remain competitive in the evolving global manufacturing landscape.
Government Support for Manufacturing Transformation
Singapore’s Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Gan Siow Huang, emphasized regional cooperation as a key pillar for industrial resilience and stable supply chains. Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Industry echoed this view, highlighting innovation and technological transformation as essential drivers of regional manufacturing competitiveness.
Batam’s Execution-Centric Investment Proposition
During the summit, Fary Djemy Francis visited technology exhibition booths featuring robotics and AI-based manufacturing solutions. He highlighted that Industry 5.0 requires accelerated talent upskilling and operational readiness, aligning with Batam’s focus on infrastructure preparedness, streamlined licensing, and workforce development.
Strategic Engagements with Investors and Financial Institutions
Beyond the main forum, BP Batam held strategic discussions with the FDI Advisory Unit of United Overseas Bank (UOB) to explore collaboration opportunities. Talks covered joint promotion initiatives, investor pipeline development, and curated investment approaches for manufacturing and technology-driven sectors targeting Batam.
Building Talent and Investor-Centric Capabilities
BP Batam also organized a Strategic Mentoring and Investor Insight Lab, attended by Batam Investment Ambassadors and investment practitioners in Singapore. The program focused on mapping investor needs, communicating Batam’s value proposition, and developing solution-based engagement models to strengthen investor confidence.
Certainty, Speed, and Predictable Execution
Speaking on the sidelines of the summit, Fary emphasized that global manufacturers are no longer driven solely by incentives. Instead, they prioritize certainty, speed, and execution capability. He stated that Batam is being prepared as a platform where investors can move efficiently from decision-making to production without friction.
Licensing Reform and Regional Development Updates
During the Batam–Bintan–Karimun thematic panel, BP Batam presented updates on accelerated regional development and integrated investment licensing reforms. The presentation was delivered by BP Batam Investment Director Dendi Gustinandar, who addressed industry questions on operational readiness and process certainty.
BP Batam’s participation at the SMF Manufacturing Day Summit 2026 reinforces Batam’s position as a competitive, export-oriented manufacturing hub in Southeast Asia. With integrated licensing services, strengthened infrastructure, and an execution-focused approach, Batam offers manufacturers from Indonesia and Singapore a reliable platform to navigate the next phase of global industrial transformation.
