A 27-year-old man, identified only as R, died after being violently attacked by his boyfriend, S, also known as D, who is 17 years old. The incident took place inside the couple’s rented room.

According to police, the victim suffered severe head injuries after being struck with a stone mortar. He was rushed to the hospital following the assault, but medical efforts failed to save his life. Authorities confirmed that the blow caused a fractured skull and serious internal bleeding, leading to his death.

Police Confirmation and Arrest
The case was confirmed by Batam Kota Police Criminal Investigation Unit head Iptu Bobby Ramadhana Fauzi. He stated that the suspect was secured at the scene shortly after the incident and is currently undergoing further questioning. Police are continuing to process the case and complete the investigation file.

Jealousy as the Motive
Initial police findings indicate the violence was triggered by a romantic dispute rooted in jealousy. Investigators revealed that the victim had accused the suspect of frequently communicating with other men and decided to end their relationship. The victim was known to leave the room frequently for work, while the suspect was more withdrawn and rarely interacted with others.
