Enhanced $10 billion package aims to ease living costs for lower- and middle-income households.

Roughly three million Singaporeans aged 21 and above will receive cash payouts ranging from $100 to $600 starting December 5, 2026, under the Government’s enhanced Assurance Package (AP). The initiative is designed to help households cope with higher living expenses and inflationary pressures.

Government Extends Support for Living Costs

Announced during Budget 2023, the Assurance Package aims to mitigate rising costs for Singaporean households, particularly among lower- and middle-income families. The package was initially valued at $9.6 billion, but subsequent enhancements have expanded it to over $10 billion, covering cash payments, MediSave top-ups, CDC vouchers, and utility and service charge rebates.

In a statement on Nov 7, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) said the payouts “help defray living expenses for Singaporean households and provide more support for lower- to middle-income families.”

How Much Will Singaporeans Receive?

The payout amount depends on assessable income and property ownership.

  • Eligible adults earning lower incomes will receive up to $600.
  • Middle-income groups can expect between $200 and $400.
  • Higher-income residents will receive $100.

Payment Schedule and Methods

Recipients who link their NRIC to PayNow by Nov 23 will receive their payouts first, on Dec 5.
Those without PayNow but holding accounts with DBS, POSB, OCBC, or UOB can submit their details at govbenefits.gov.sg by Nov 29 to receive funds via Giro by Dec 16.

A third group — those without PayNow or bank accounts — will receive funds through GovCash by Dec 22, withdrawable from any OCBC ATM islandwide using facial verification.

Fraud Prevention and Notifications

To safeguard recipients, the ministry stressed that officials will never request bank details or transfers over the phone. Eligible Singaporeans will be notified through SMS messages with the sender ID “gov.sg” before and after payments are credited. Those without a Singpass-registered mobile number will receive official letters at their registered home addresses.

Part of a Broader Inflation Response

The Assurance Package is part of Singapore’s multi-year cost-of-living support strategy, complementing earlier measures such as CDC vouchers and GST rebates. With inflation and global price pressures expected to remain elevated into 2026, the initiative underscores the government’s commitment to supporting citizens through sustained fiscal aid.

The upcoming Assurance Package payout represents another milestone in Singapore’s ongoing effort to cushion households from rising living costs. By combining direct financial aid with long-term structural support, the initiative reinforces the country’s principle of inclusive growth and shared resilience amid a challenging economic climate.
