Despite global oil price drop, BBM prices at Pertamina, Shell, Vivo, and BP remain unchanged

The newly imposed U.S. import tariffs under President Donald Trump have coincided with a drop in global oil prices, yet fuel prices across major Indonesian fuel stations remain stable this August.

Tariffs Trigger Oil Price Drop

The U.S. import tariffs, officially effective Thursday, 7 August 2025, pushed Brent crude oil prices down from USD 72.47 per barrel on 30 July to USD 66.43 per barrel on 7 August. Despite the dip, domestic fuel prices in Indonesia have not shifted.

As of 11 August 2025, Pertamina’s Jakarta stations maintain their early-August rates:

  • Pertalite: Rp10,000/litre (SGD 0.80)
  • Solar Subsidi: Rp6,800/litre (SGD 0.54)
  • Pertamax: Rp12,200/litre (SGD 0.98)
  • Pertamax Turbo: Rp13,000/litre (SGD 1.04)
  • Pertamax Green: Rp13,200/litre (SGD 1.06)
  • Dexlite: Rp13,850/litre (SGD 1.11)
  • Pertamina Dex: Rp14,150/litre (SGD 1.13)

Shell’s August prices remain consistent:

  • Super: Rp12,580/litre (SGD 1.01)
  • V-Power: Rp13,050/litre (SGD 1.04)
  • V-Power Diesel: Rp13,230/litre (SGD 1.06)
  • V-Power Nitro+: Rp14,380/litre (SGD 1.15)

BP Matches Market Stability

BP also holds steady:

  • BP Ultimate: Rp13,050/litre (SGD 1.04)
  • BP 92: Rp12,550/litre (SGD 1.00)
  • BP Ultimate Diesel: Rp14,380/litre (SGD 1.15)

Vivo Prices Remain Level

Vivo fuel rates for August are unchanged:

  • Revvo 90: Rp12,490/litre (SGD 1.00)
  • Revvo 92: Rp12,580/litre (SGD 1.01)
  • Revvo 95: Rp13,050/litre (SGD 1.04)
  • Diesel Primus Plus: Rp14,380/litre (SGD 1.15)

While global oil prices respond to shifting U.S. trade policies, Indonesia’s fuel prices at major providers remain insulated — offering price stability for motorists despite international market volatility. For consumers in Indonesia and regional neighbors like Singapore, this steadiness provides a rare reprieve from global energy uncertainty.
