Singapore’s 60th birthday to feature immersive dual-site showcase, new theme song “Here We Are”, and expanded community outreach
Singapore’s 60th National Day Parade (NDP 2025) will break new ground on August 9, with celebrations spanning both the Padang and Marina Bay for the first time. Themed “Majulah Singapura”, this milestone edition promises a grand showcase of unity, remembrance, and future-forward optimism.
A Dual-Location Spectacle Like Never Before
For the first time in history, the NDP live show on August 9 will be staged at both the Padang and Marina Bay, forming a synchronised “expanded canvas” that brings the celebration to a wider audience.
According to Colonel Chong Shi Hao, chair of the NDP 2025 executive committee, this dual-venue format aims to “engage as many Singaporeans as possible.” The Padang will host 27,000 spectators, while Marina Bay is expected to accommodate 200,000 more viewers, without tickets.
Iconic Displays and Multi-Sensory Experiences
Key highlights include:
Jump of Unity: Red Lions parachutists landing at the Padang and naval divers splashing down in Marina Bay
Floating stage: A new performance platform at the Bay, complemented by light projections, fireworks, and a skyline show
Mobile Column: Showcasing air, land, and sea assets from SAF, Home Team, and the Maritime and Port Authority
Integrated Aerial and Maritime Display: A fly-past over Padang paired with a maritime show at the Bay
Large LED screens and speakers will ensure live synchronisation across locations.
“Here We Are”: The Heart of SG60
The 2025 theme song “Here We Are”—written by Charlie Lim and Chok Kerong, produced by Dr Sydney Tan, and performed by Kit Chan, Charlie Lim, The Island Voices, and a 100-member choir—celebrates resilience, unity, and shared identity.
Set in a school-like hall, the music video directed by He Shuming evokes a sense of collective nostalgia, capturing Singaporeans overcoming hardships and celebrating everyday triumphs.
Majulah Singapura: A Timely Theme
This year’s theme “Majulah Singapura”—drawn directly from the National Anthem—reflects the nation’s journey through uncertain times and signals a united push forward.
“It’s about recognising our shared responsibility in shaping the future,” said COL Chong, adding that trust, inclusivity, and mutual support anchor the message.
Celebrations Beyond the Bay
The festivities will also extend to:
Five major venues around Marina Bay: The Promontory, Bayfront Event Space, The Meadow @ Gardens by the Bay, Marina Barrage, and Singapore Sports Hub
Heartland Celebrations on August 10: With fireworks, drone shows, and mobile column appearances in five neighbourhoods
Public engagement: Including flag distribution via Shopee, red-and-white apparel from Love, Bonito, Uniqlo, and more
The #GiveAsOneSG campaign returns with 60 Days of Giving (June 10–Aug 10), encouraging volunteerism and charity across the nation.
A Symbolic SG60 Logo
The NDP 2025 logo merges “60” and “GO”, underscoring a future-focused celebration. Designed with five shooting stars symbolising democracy, peace, progress, justice, and equality, the logo will be reimagined by 25 individuals as part of a collective artwork unveiling Singaporeans’ dreams.
NDP 2025 is not just a parade—it’s a nationwide movement of unity and reflection, scaled to commemorate Singapore’s six-decade journey. With immersive shows, heartfelt music, and inclusive outreach, this SG60 edition reaffirms the spirit of “Majulah Singapura” and invites every citizen to step forward, together.
