Pavilion at Expo 2025 highlights Singapore’s creativity, diversity, and community dreams for the future

Singapore will take centre stage at Expo 2025 Osaka with the launch of The Dream Sphere, an immersive, multi-sensory pavilion showcasing the island nation’s cultural richness, sustainability ambitions, and SG60 milestone. From groundbreaking art installations to iconic hawker fare and community-driven dreams, the Singapore Pavilion invites the world to explore its vision for a more inclusive and innovative future.

Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan will run from 13 April to 13 October 2025, drawing over 28 million expected visitors. Singapore’s participation, led by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Kingsmen Exhibits, marks a significant celebration of 60 years of nationhood (SG60) while strengthening bilateral ties with Japan, now in their 59th year.

The Pavilion promises an immersive journey through Singapore’s culinary heritage, vibrant arts scene, and sustainable design. Signature exhibits include works from acclaimed artists Ashley Yeo, Jerrold Chong, Melissa Tan, and Zul Mahmod. Visitors will encounter cutting-edge displays co-curated with DesignSingapore Council, all framed by The Dream Sphere’s futuristic structure inspired by origami and the native crimson sunbird “Sunny,” Singapore’s Dream Messenger.

A special SG60 feature includes 60 dreams from Singapore’s diverse communities—including SG Enable, the Nature Society Singapore, and The Japanese Association Singapore—displayed on vibrant red discs that adorn the Pavilion. Minister of State Alvin Tan emphasised that The Dream Sphere reflects Singapore’s bold aspirations and community cohesion. Performances from artists such as Shye, Redeafination, and The Island Voices further bring this cultural mosaic to life.

Complementing the sensory experience are the Shiok! Café and Cloud Bar, where guests can indulge in Singaporean classics like Laksa and Chicken Rice, or sip artisanal cocktails crafted with local gins. The Dream Boutique offers exclusive souvenirs by homegrown brands like Onlewo and The Animal Project, including limited-edition Merli merchandise.

The Dream Messenger campaign invites global audiences to engage with Singapore’s vision. Through a collaboration with the Nippon Origami Association, the public can fold their own “Sunny” origami and submit dreams for a chance to win a trip to Osaka. This participatory element reinforces the Pavilion’s theme: where dreams take shape.

The Dream Sphere is more than an exhibit—it is a declaration of how Singapore dreams boldly while staying rooted in community, sustainability, and innovation. By bridging tradition with technology and inviting global dialogue, the Pavilion reflects a forward-looking nation ready to shape the next 60 years and beyond.
