Changi recorded 255.2mm of rainfall over January 10 and 11, exceeding Singapore’s January average of 222.4mm. The PUB confirmed that heavy rain is expected to persist until January 13, emphasizing the impact of the ongoing monsoon surge.
Flooding was reported in areas such as Jalan Seaview, Mountbatten Road, and Jalan Pokok Serunai. The high tide of 2.8m on January 10 overwhelmed nearby canals and drains, causing temporary road closures and disruption to local residents.
PUB deployed Quick Response Teams to manage water levels, assist residents, and pump out water from flooded roads. Flood protection devices were also distributed to minimize further damage and disruption.
PUB urged the public not to share outdated videos of past floods, which could create unnecessary panic. Official updates are being provided through the myENV app and PUB’s Flood Alerts Telegram channel to ensure accurate information is shared.
