New Hang Nadim VVIP Terminal set to enhance Batam’s appeal for investors and tourists.
Batam’s Badan Pengusahaan (BP Batam) officially inaugurated the new VVIP Terminal at Hang Nadim International Airport on December 20, 2024. The facility, designed to attract investors and VIPs, aims to bolster the city’s standing as a modern gateway to Indonesia’s economic growth.
The newly inaugurated VVIP terminal represents a crucial step in BP Batam’s strategy to position Batam as a global economic and tourism hub. Officially opened by BP Batam Head Muhammad Rudi, the terminal aims to create a positive investment climate and welcome international investors with state-of-the-art facilities.
The VVIP terminal, constructed with an IDR 73 billion (SGD 6.06 million) budget, features modern amenities like a main lobby, private lounges, conference rooms, and multifunctional spaces. Its interior blends contemporary design with traditional Malay accents, reflecting Batam’s cultural heritage.

Muhammad Rudi emphasized the terminal’s role in supporting Hang Nadim Airport’s transformation as a key entry point for Indonesia. “This facility underlines BP Batam’s commitment to modernizing Batam as a premier economic, tourism, and logistics hub,” Rudi stated during the inauguration ceremony.
The VVIP terminal is part of a larger blueprint, including the construction of Terminal II, which will enhance passenger handling capacity and improve connectivity. BP Batam is also expediting road infrastructure development to support seamless access to these facilities.
To optimize the terminal’s management, BP Batam plans to collaborate with private enterprises by 2025. This partnership is expected to ensure top-tier service standards while maintaining operational efficiency.
