The Northeast monsoon has brought heavy rains to Johor, raising concerns about a second wave of floods. State officials, led by Women, Family, and Community Development Chairman Khairin Nisa Ismail, have prepared extensively to support evacuees. The initiative involves storing essential supplies, coordinating donations, and providing psychological support.

Johor has established 1,109 temporary relief centres equipped with freshly cooked meals, cleaning kits, diapers, blankets, and sanitary products. Over 200 food suppliers have been appointed to cater to evacuees, ensuring their comfort during their stay.

Storage Depots for Quick Deployment
Essential supplies are stored at major depots in Muar and Kempas, along with 16 mini stores and nine district-level storage facilities. This ensures timely delivery of aid to flood-hit areas.
Importance of Coordinated Donations
NGOs and private donors are encouraged to coordinate with the Disaster Operations Control Centre or the Welfare Department to prevent wastage and ensure equitable distribution of supplies to victims.
Psychological and Community Support
The Welfare Department is also providing counselling and psychological aid to evacuees, helping them cope with the trauma of displacement caused by the floods.
