The Batam City Secretary Jefridin, M.Pd. chaired a key evaluation meeting focusing on the energy subsidy programs for solar and 3 kg LPG cylinders, alongside electricity subsidies in Pulau Belakang Padang, aiming to refine policy decisions.
In a concerted effort to assess and optimize energy subsidy distributions in Batam, the city’s Secretary, Jefridin, M.Pd., has initiated a comprehensive evaluation meeting. This move comes as part of a broader agenda to ensure precise and beneficial subsidy allocations to the populace, especially concerning solar energy and 3 kg LPG cylinders, known locally as “Gas Melon.”
The evaluation session was conducted at the City Hall, with key figures like Damang Wismadi from the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency’s Directorate of Social Affairs and Disaster Management in attendance, highlighting the collaborative approach between local government and regulatory bodies.

The meeting focused on the intricacies of distributing energy subsidies efficiently. Jefridin urged relevant local departments, which were sampled for the spot checks, to provide accurate data to aid policy formulation and address distribution hurdles effectively.
Damang Wismadi conveyed his appreciation for Batam’s cooperation and detailed the evaluation’s framework, which is guided by Presidential Regulation changes and aims at enhancing the accountability of social welfare subsidy programs through meticulous spot checks and data gathering.
The technical team, consisting of seven members, will conduct the spot checks over a week, aiming to map out a macro evaluation of the subsidy distribution’s effectiveness and its impact on social welfare in Batam.
