Residents of Tanjungpinang rejoice as Barelang Group, in partnership with PT Sumber Data Indonesia and PT Super Sistem Group, officially launches a high-speed undersea internet cable connecting Singapore with Tanjungpinang, enhancing digital access and economic prospects.
The strategic undersea cable project, designed to cater to various sectors including government, educational institutions, and private users, aims to foster a digitally inclusive environment in Tanjungpinang, promoting broader economic growth and connectivity across the region.
Barelang Group spearheads the project, collaborating with PT Sumber Data Indonesia and PT Super System Group to deploy a 100-gigabit capacity undersea cable, which is expected to transform digital accessibility in Tanjungpinang.
The introduction of high-speed internet is poised to boost local economies by attracting more businesses, enhancing educational resources, and improving government services through better connectivity.
The project includes the expansion of infrastructure in Tanjungpinang and nearby regions, setting the stage for future technological advancements and potentially turning the area into a new digital hub in Southeast Asia.
The network meets the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information’s regulation, ensuring a service level agreement (SLA) of 99.5%, which translates to maximum downtime of just three hours a month.
