In a major stride towards bolstering digital connectivity in Southeast Asia, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia International (Telin), in collaboration with BW Digital, has embarked on an ambitious project to lay an undersea cable linking Batam, Indonesia, and Singapore. This strategic move aims to cater to the soaring demand for data transit between the two pivotal economic hubs.

The initiative, signed during the International Telecommunications Week 2024 in Maryland, USA, underscores a significant commitment by both companies to drive forward the digital economy of the region through the Nongsa-Changi undersea cable system.

The Nongsa-Changi undersea cable spans 50 km and includes at least 24 pairs of state-of-the-art fiber optics, designed to address the data center demands in both Batam and Singapore.
