In a tragic incident on a quiet Sunday night in Batam, a Chinese national, Yiuo Yu, lost her life after allegedly jumping from the sixth floor of the Asialink Hotel following a heated argument with friends.
The incident unfolded at the Asialink Hotel in Batam, where Yiuo Yu, a 25-year-old woman from China, was staying with four male companions. Following a night out, a severe altercation occurred, which allegedly led to Yu’s fatal decision.
The event occurred after Yiuo Yu and her companions returned from a local entertainment spot. An argument escalated, culminating in Yu’s fall from the sixth floor of the hotel.

Witnesses reported a loud impact sound before discovering Yu critically injured on the street. She was promptly taken to Harapan Bunda Hospital across the street but succumbed to her injuries.
The Batam Police, led by Commissioner Heribertus Ompusunggu, confirmed the death and have detained the four men accompanying Yu for questioning to ascertain the circumstances leading to her fall.
