During a significant preparatory meeting in Indonesia, Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan and Indonesia’s Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto discussed various strategic initiatives ahead of the Leaders’ Retreat between President Joko Widodo and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, emphasizing their commitment to bolstering economic and diplomatic relations.
The meeting between Minister Airlangga Hartarto and Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan focused on preparations for the forthcoming Leaders’ Retreat at Bogor Palace, highlighting key areas such as green energy, digital connectivity, and human resource development among their discussed topics.
Both ministers expressed optimism about the strength of ongoing economic ties, citing joint projects like solar farms and carbon capture storage, and the development of regions such as Batam-Bintan-Karimun.

Discussions included plans for extensive data center development around the new capital, Nusantara, supporting its modern and digitalized infrastructure, with a strong focus on sustainable and green energy solutions.
