In February 2024, the city attracted 112,687 foreign visitors, with Singaporeans making up over half of these numbers. This significant increase from January’s 78,759 visitors underscores Batam’s growing appeal as a key destination in Indonesia’s tourism landscape.

Singaporeans account for 50.97% of Batam’s foreign tourist arrivals in February 2024, highlighting the close proximity and strong ties between Batam and Singapore.

Following Singapore, tourists from Malaysia, India, China, and other countries contribute to Batam’s international visitor diversity, showcasing its global appeal.
Batam stands as the primary contributor to the Riau Islands’ tourism, with 77.77% of the region’s international tourists choosing the city as their destination.
A noteworthy 121.46% increase in Indian visitors in February 2024 compared to the previous month presents new opportunities for Batam to attract tourists from India.
