Supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow is set to represent Indonesia at the 30th International Travel and Hospitality Show (MITT) in Moscow, from March 19-21, 2024. This participation aims to promote Indonesian tourism and hospitality industries in the lucrative Russian market, further strengthening tourism ties between the two nations.
The MITT forum, Russia’s largest tourism event, serves as a critical platform for countries, including Indonesia, to introduce their tourism products to the Russian audience. With Russia recognized as a significant source of outbound tourists, Indonesia’s participation is a strategic move to attract more Russian visitors, leveraging the increased interest and travel propensity among Russian tourists.
Russian tourists have shown a growing interest in international travel, with an estimated 15% year-on-year increase in outbound trips, totaling 25.8 million journeys in 2023. Indonesia, a favorite destination in Southeast Asia for Russians, witnessed over 161,000 Russian visitors in 2023, marking a 117% increase from the previous year.

Russia ranks as one of the top European countries in terms of tourist visits to Indonesia, even surpassing pre-pandemic levels, making it the fifth-largest European contributor to Indonesia’s tourism sector.
At MITT 2024, the focus will not only be on promoting Bali but also on highlighting Indonesia’s super-priority tourism destinations such as Borobudur Temple, Labuan Bajo, Lake Toba, Mandalika, and Likupang, showcasing the diversity and richness of Indonesia’s tourist attractions.
The 30th anniversary of the MITT exhibition is expected to draw 768 exhibitors, over 14,000 registered visitors, and feature 170 speakers, experts, and business leaders from the tourism and hospitality industry, providing an unprecedented opportunity for Indonesia to engage with international tourism stakeholders.
