Batam Invites 25,000 Residents for Grand Iftar with Mayor Rudi at Engku Putri

In the spirit of Ramadan 1445 Hijriah, the Batam Government (Pemko Batam) alongside the Batam Industrial Development Authority (BP Batam) is set to host a communal iftar at Engku Putri Square. Moving away from the tradition of holding the event at the Mayor’s residence, this year’s gathering aims to unite up to 25,000 residents in a show of solidarity and devotion.

The decision to host the iftar in the spacious Dataran Engku Putri marks a significant change in venue, reflecting the city’s commitment to inclusivity and community spirit during the holy month of Ramadan. The event, led by Batam Secretary Jefridin, M.Pd., highlights the city’s dedication to fostering a sense of unity among its residents.

Comprehensive planning has been undertaken to ensure the availability of prayer spaces, ablution facilities, parking areas, and cleanliness, with meticulous coordination among various city departments to manage the logistical aspects of the event.

Security and parking arrangements are being organized in collaboration with the Transportation Department, Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), and BP Batam’s Security Directorate, emphasizing the importance of a safe and orderly gathering.
