Luki Zaiman Prawira, the Assistant for Economy and Development at Setdaprov Kepri, urges the public not to be swayed by rumors of current food shortages, confirming that coordination with Bulog’s Batam and Tanjungpinang branches indicates sufficient stock for the next 3 to 6 months.

With strategic government programs in place, Kepri managed to maintain a low inflation rate of 2.76% year-on-year in 2023, highlighting effective food security measures. The detailed stock from Bulog’s branches across Kepri showcases the government’s commitment to ensuring a stable food supply during significant religious occasions.

The Batam branch, covering Batam City and Karimun District, holds a total stock of 5,115 tons, with portions in storage and en route, ensuring a 3-month supply.

Tanjungpinang’s Bulog branch, serving Tanjungpinang City, Bintan, Lingga, and Anambas Districts, reports a total of 2,834 tons in stock, guaranteeing up to 6 months of supply in certain areas.

The Natuna area, with warehouses in Ranai and Sedanau, has prepared 1,100 tons of rice, affirming a 6-month supply and underlining the extensive preparation for the festive season.
