Four tourism events from the Riau Islands Province have been selected for inclusion in the 2024 Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN), organized by Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
The Kharisma Event Nusantara 2024, a pivotal program by Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, has selected four significant tourism events from the Kepri region to be part of its national calendar.
Guntur Sakti, the Head of the Kepri Tourism Department, confirmed the selection of these events, which underwent rigorous evaluation by the Ministry’s panel team, based on criteria like consistency in execution and tourist attraction.

The selected events include Batam Wonderfood Art Ramadhan (March 10-April 19, 2024), Kenduri Seni Melayu (July 17-21, 2024), Padang Melang International Folklore Festival (July 24-28, 2024), and Tanjungpinang Fest (August 8-12, 2024).
The inclusion of these events in KEN 2024 is part of a broader effort to boost domestic and international tourism in Indonesia, particularly in the Kepri region.
KEN 2024 aligns with values of unity, economy, and creativity, highlighting the diverse cultural richness of the Indonesian archipelago.
Indonesian Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno emphasized the significance of the KEN calendar in promoting regional activities and supporting economic revival through tourism. The KEN 2024 program features a total of 110 events, including 100 flagship events and a top ten list.
The inclusion of Kepri’s four major tourism events in the national Kharisma Event Nusantara 2024 is a significant boost for the region’s visibility and appeal to both Singaporean and international visitors. It underscores the diverse and rich cultural offerings of the region, poised to attract a wider audience and contribute to the local economy.
