Foreign nationals in Indonesia can now easily extend their visitation permits online, thanks to the new initiative by the Directorate General of Immigration.
The Directorate General of Immigration has launched an online platform (evisa.imigrasi.go.id) aimed at simplifying the visa extension process for foreigners in Indonesia. This move is part of Indonesia’s broader effort to enhance digital services and streamline administrative processes.
The new service allows holders of various visit visas, including tourism, medical treatment, government business, short courses, and business visits, to extend their permits online, eliminating the need to visit immigration offices.
Specific visa types such as Extend Tourism Stay Permit, Extend Medical Treatment Stay Permit, Extend Government Business Stay Permit, and others can now be extended with ease through the online portal.
Director General Silmy Karim emphasizes the commitment to continually improve services through digitalization, ensuring a smoother and more efficient process for visitors extending their stay.
The online extension service underwent rigorous testing before its official launch on December 31, 2023. This strategic timing aims to assist visitors around the festive season and beyond.
