The alarming surge in lobster seed smuggling to Vietnam through maritime routes has been identified as a critical issue by Indonesia’s Directorate General of Marine and Fisheries Resources Surveillance (PSDKP).

Adin Nurawaluddin, Director-General of PSDKP, announced a joint operation to combat the smuggling, emphasizing the need for deterrent effects and stricter law enforcement.

The operation, scheduled for December 2023, aims to address the severe economic impact, including a potential loss of 30 trillion Rupiah in non-tax revenue.
