Batam city, located in the Riau Islands Province (Kepri), has risen as the paramount foreign investment contributor with a remarkable 83.6% share, translating to about USD 348.09 million in just the first half of the year.

Muhammad Rudi, Mayor of Batam, has lauded all parties for their relentless push towards the city’s growth. Batam, with its continuous development and guarantees of ease and security, remains an alluring destination for investors.

The city’s contribution to foreign investment was based on data from the Ministry of Investment/BKPM, revealing Batam’s 83.6% share of foreign investment in the Kepri province for the first semester.

The substantial investment realized amounts to approximately USD 348.09 million out of Kepri’s total foreign investment of USD 416.4 million. According to Rudi, this is equivalent to IDR 5.15 trillion.

Mayor Rudi remains optimistic about Batam’s investment trajectory, correlating with the city’s infrastructural development. Current infrastructural endeavors include the Hang Nadim Batam Airport, Batu Ampar Port, and major roadways.

The Mayor, who is also the Head of BP Batam, emphasized the acceleration of developments to attract even more investments into the city.

With the ongoing acceleration in the development of the Rempang region, Batam anticipates an even more significant surge in investments.

The burgeoning growth and strategic infrastructural investments in Batam highlight the city’s potential as a hub for business and leisure. For Singaporeans and international visitors, this means enhanced accessibility, further opportunities for business collaborations, and a promising tourist destination.
