Indonesian organizations distribute nearly 69,000 liters of water to displaced Palestinians in Gaza.

Indonesia’s humanitarian assistance to Gaza is continuing through direct support for basic necessities, with thousands of Palestinians receiving clean water through a collaboration between the National Alms Agency and local aid partner Muhajir.

Nearly 69,000 Liters Distributed
Indonesia’s National Alms Agency, BAZNAS, working with zakat collection institution Muhajir, distributed 68,920 liters of clean water to 6,892 Palestinians in Gaza. The assistance included displaced residents affected by the continuing humanitarian crisis.

Aid Reaches Al Qarara Residents
The distribution took place in the Al Qarara area of the Gaza Strip, with each recipient receiving 10 liters of water. BAZNAS Head Sodik Mudjahid said the initiative was intended to help meet essential needs among residents and displaced families with limited access to safe drinking water.

Water Delivered Directly to Refugee Camps
BAZNAS and Muhajir delivered the water directly to refugee camps for drinking and sanitation needs. Mudjahid said access to clean water remains particularly important during the emergency and described the partnership with Muhajir as part of BAZNAS’ strategy to expand humanitarian assistance to Palestinians.

Gaza Families Face Severe Water Insecurity
According to a UNICEF humanitarian update cited by IndoView, 82% of families in Gaza were experiencing water insecurity as of May 29, 2026. The report also stated that up to 70% of families were unable to collect six liters of water per person per day for drinking and cooking.

Assistance Builds on Earlier Deliveries
The latest distribution follows previous humanitarian assistance provided by BAZNAS in Gaza. According to IndoView, the agency delivered 100,000 liters of water to 2,500 people in Al Jalaa in March 2026. BAZNAS and Muhajir also reportedly distributed 3,000 ready-to-eat meals across several areas of the Gaza Strip between September 10 and 16.

The latest water distribution adds to Indonesia’s continuing humanitarian assistance for Palestinians facing shortages of basic necessities. For Indonesians, the program demonstrates how national charitable institutions are channeling assistance directly to affected communities. For Singaporeans, it provides another example of a Southeast Asian humanitarian initiative responding to basic water and sanitation needs in Gaza.
