Updated vaccines remain fully subsidized for eligible residents as Singapore shifts to routine protection.

Singapore will integrate Covid-19 vaccination into its regular national immunisation system from October 12, marking a shift from the pandemic-era vaccination program toward longer-term protection for vulnerable groups.

Covid-19 Vaccines Enter National Schedules
From October 12, 2026, Covid-19 vaccination will be included in both Singapore’s National Childhood Immunisation Schedule and National Adult Immunisation Schedule. The Ministry of Health and Communicable Diseases Agency said the move is intended to keep vaccination accessible and affordable as Covid-19 continues to circulate and pose a greater risk of severe illness to vulnerable groups.

Seniors and Vulnerable Groups Prioritized
Authorities recommend vaccination for people aged 60 and above, medically vulnerable individuals aged six months and older, and residents of aged care facilities. Healthcare workers and people who live or work with medically vulnerable individuals are also encouraged to receive the vaccine to help protect those around them. Anyone aged six months and above who wishes to be vaccinated may continue to do so.

Updated Vaccines Available From October 12
Updated XFG Moderna/Spikevax and Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty vaccines, approved by Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority, will be rolled out from October 12. Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty will initially be available for those aged 12 and above, while Moderna/Spikevax will be available from six months of age. Pfizer vaccination for children aged six months to 11 years will begin on November 2.

More Than 600 GP Clinics to Offer Jabs
Vaccination will be available at more than 600 general practitioner clinics, all polyclinics and mobile vaccination sites. It will remain fully subsidized, until further review, for Singapore citizens, permanent residents, long-term pass holders and certain short-term pass holders at participating CHAS GP clinics, polyclinics and mobile vaccination sites. GP appointments can be arranged directly with participating clinics, while polyclinic bookings can be made through HealthHub.

Dose Recommendations Depend on Vaccination History
For people receiving a Covid-19 vaccine for the first time, children aged six months to four years are recommended to receive two doses eight weeks apart, while those aged five and above need one dose. People aged six months and older who were previously vaccinated are advised to receive an additional dose around one year after their previous dose, with a minimum interval of five months.

Singapore’s decision moves Covid-19 vaccination further into routine preventive healthcare rather than treating it solely as an emergency pandemic measure. For Singaporeans, the change maintains broad access while prioritizing those most vulnerable to severe illness. Indonesians living, working or studying in Singapore may also be covered by the subsidy depending on their immigration or pass status.
