Helmeted assailants flee on motorcycles after brutal morning attack

A machete attack in Penang has left a 33-year-old man seriously injured, with footage of the assault quickly spreading across social media.

Attack Caught on Video
The violent incident occurred at about 8am on Wednesday, Feb 25, in Penang. According to Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rozak Muhammad, the victim was attacked in broad daylight by two men armed with machetes.

Viral footage circulating online shows the helmeted attackers repeatedly slashing the 33-year-old man before fleeing the scene on motorcycles. The helmets appeared to have been used to conceal their identities.

Victim Seriously Injured
The floor was reportedly left covered bloodstained following the assault. Despite sustaining severe injuries, the victim managed to move away from the scene before being rushed to hospital for treatment.

Police confirmed that the man maintained serious injuries. His current medical condition has not been publicly disclosed.

Police Investigation Underway
Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects are local residents. Authorities have launched a search operation to track down the attackers.

The case is being investigated for voluntarily causing grievous harm using a dangerous weapon, a serious offense under Malaysian law.
