New fully halal-certified plant in Simpang Renggam triples production and strengthens Singapore–Malaysia food supply chains
OTS Holdings Ltd, a leading Singapore-based food manufacturing and brand-building group, has inaugurated a RM40 million halal-certified advanced food manufacturing facility in Simpang Renggam, Johor, marking a major milestone in its regional expansion strategy. The facility will triple the group’s halal production output and strengthen its position in the growing global halal market.
Strengthening Regional Halal Production
The new Ellaziq (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. facility was officially opened on October 28, 2025, in a ceremony graced by Johor State Investment, Trade, Consumer Affairs and Human Resources Committee Chairman Lee Ting Han, alongside representatives from MIDA, Enterprise Singapore, the Singapore Business Federation, and the Johor State Islamic Religious Department.
With a land area of 178,863 square feet and a built-up area of 65,000 square feet, the facility is equipped with cutting-edge food and beverage automation systems and advanced machinery. It obtained halal certification in August 2025 and is expected to increase OTS’s halal production capacity to 200 tonnes per month—over three times the output of its Singapore facility.
Boosting Malaysia’s Halal Economy
According to MIDA Chief Executive Officer Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, Ellaziq’s new facility “reaffirms Malaysia’s strategic position in the global halal economy, particularly in advanced food manufacturing.”
He added that the expansion “leverages the proximity and economic synergy between Johor and Singapore, strengthening regional supply chains and increasing Malaysia’s national halal capacity to serve Muslim consumers and those who prioritise halal-certified products globally.”
The project, he said, aligns with Malaysia’s economic vision of creating high-quality jobs and promoting smart manufacturing through technology-driven investments.
Commitment to Muslim Consumers
OTS Holdings Managing Director Ong Bee Chip highlighted that the expansion reflects the company’s long-term dedication to serving the Muslim consumer market. “Our focus is not just on increasing production volume,” he said, “but on creating products that resonate with the values and expectations of the Muslim community, while maintaining the stringent standards of food quality and safety.”

The new facility will support the company’s export growth across Malaysia, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, the Middle East, and Africa, enabling wider global distribution of its halal-certified brands.
Investment and Expansion Details
OTS Holdings acquired the Johor property in November 2023 for RM14.3 million, subsequently carrying out extensive renovations and equipment upgrades to meet international food safety and operational standards.
The company’s Singapore operations, currently producing 60 tonnes of halal products monthly within a 17,000-square-foot facility, will now benefit from Johor’s scale and automation efficiencies. The Johor plant also includes office space, a boilerhouse, and a workshop, designed to support streamlined production with a lean workforce.
