For several days, residents of Taman Raya Phase 3, Belian subdistrict, had noticed a motorcycle repeatedly parked near the community warehouse without any report to local leaders. The lack of identification raised suspicions, prompting neighborhood head Rahmat Yasir and several residents to act around 1 a.m.
Discovery Inside The House
The man, identified only as “M,” was found staying at a friend’s rented house in Block HD No. 02. When asked for his ID, he claimed he had one but needed to fetch it. While waiting, residents searched the house and discovered crystal meth packages—both used and prepared for distribution.
Illegal Drugs And Evidence Seized
The community immediately secured the evidence, including 1.6 grams of methamphetamine, four mobile phones, a glass pipe, and several hundred thousand rupiah in cash. They then handed M over to the Narcotics Unit of Barelang Police for further investigation.
Police Confirm Dealer Status
Barelang Police Narcotics Chief, Commissioner Deny Langie, confirmed the arrest, stating the suspect was both a user and distributor. “The individual is under interrogation, and we are tracking the network connected to him,” Langie explained.

Rahmat emphasized that the successful capture was due to the solidarity and vigilance of residents. “We cannot allow our area to become a haven for drug offenders. If something looks suspicious, we act. Drugs are not tolerated here,” he said.
