Three suspects arrested in separate theft cases involving luxury watch, stolen car, and narcotics
In a string of theft-related incidents, police in Batu Pahat arrested three men linked to high-value property crimes. Authorities recovered a RM100,700 Rolex, a stolen car, narcotics, and tools used in the operations.
Rolex Theft: Suspect with 14 Past Offences Caught
On June 25, Batu Pahat police arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly stealing a Rolex watch worth RM100,700 from a car parked in Taman Sinar Berlian. The owner reported the break-in around 9:30 pm the night before, also noting RM700 missing from the vehicle.

According to Batu Pahat police chief ACP Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani, a swift search operation led to the suspect’s capture at a house in Taman Seri Wangsa at 3:00 am. Officers recovered the Rolex and seized clothing and tools believed to be used in the crime.
A urine test revealed the suspect was under the influence of Methamphetamine. Police also discovered the man had 14 previous criminal and drug-related charges. The case is being investigated under Section 379 of Malaysia’s Penal Code, which deals with theft.
Separate Burglary Involves Stolen Car, Narcotics
In a separate incident on June 22, two men aged 50 and 36 were arrested in connection with a housebreaking in Taman Soga Sutera. The victim, returning home, found valuables missing and a car stolen, with losses amounting to RM65,000.

The first suspect was arrested at 5:00 pm in Peserai, and the second was caught a few hours later in Bandar Hilir, Melaka. Police recovered the stolen vehicle and seized several items, including tools and clothing tied to the crime.
Narcotics were also found during the arrests: 27.28 grams of heroin worth RM682 and 4.26 grams of syabu valued at RM468.60. Both suspects tested positive for Methamphetamine and had prior records involving drugs and theft.
Police Response and Public Safety
ACP Shahrulanuar confirmed the successful recovery of stolen goods and drugs, crediting prompt police action and public cooperation. He urged the public to remain vigilant and not leave valuables unattended, especially in vehicles or unsecured premises.
These incidents highlight the persistent link between drug abuse and property crimes in Malaysia, underlining the need for both preventive enforcement and rehabilitation efforts for repeat offenders.
Drug Use a Common Thread in Crimes

In both cases, all suspects tested positive for Methamphetamine, reinforcing the troubling overlap between substance abuse and criminal behavior. With drug-related offences appearing frequently in theft and burglary investigations, police are tightening efforts to target known offenders and monitor drug activity across high-risk neighborhoods.
Law enforcement continues to emphasize rehabilitation in conjunction with prosecution, aiming to address the root causes of crime and reduce repeat offences.
The coordinated police operations in Batu Pahat underscore the urgent need to address both property crime and drug abuse. With high-value thefts and drug-related crimes becoming more intertwined, the cases serve as a warning across Southeast Asia, particularly for Indonesian and Singaporean communities keeping close ties with Malaysia through trade, travel, and family. The swift response and recovery efforts highlight both the risks and the readiness of Malaysian authorities.
