46-year-old man dies at the scene after losing control and colliding with two vehicles

A late-night crash in Johor turned deadly when a driver lost control and collided with two parked vehicles, resulting in his death at the scene. Authorities have launched an investigation under Malaysia’s Road Transport Act.

Crash in Felda Bukit Aping Claims Life

A fatal road incident occurred on the night of June 29 in Johor’s Felda Bukit Aping Barat when a Proton Saga driver lost control and crashed into two parked vehicles. The victim, 46-year-old Sazali Mohd Razak, died at the scene due to serious internal injuries.

Kota Tinggi District Police Chief Superintendent Yusof Othman confirmed that police were alerted to the incident at 10.25pm. Preliminary investigations suggest that the driver had lost control before colliding with a Proton Wira and a Toyota Hiace, both parked in front of a residential property.

Emergency Response and Investigation

Emergency teams responded swiftly, but Sazali was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was sent to the Forensic Unit at Kota Tinggi Hospital for post-mortem examination.

The case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which covers death caused by reckless or dangerous driving.

Authorities Urge Road Vigilance

Superintendent Yusof emphasized public safety in a statement, reminding drivers to strictly adhere to traffic laws. “We urge all road users to drive responsibly to ensure everyone’s safety,” he said.

The tragedy serves as a grim reminder of the dangers posed by momentary lapses in attention or speed management, especially in residential areas.

Vehicles Involved and Scene Details

The crash involved three vehicles:

  • Proton Saga (driven by victim)
  • Proton Wira (parked)
  • Toyota Hiace (parked)

The collision happened directly in front of a house along Jalan Teratai, a local street known for its residential layout, which typically sees low-speed traffic.

This incident underlines the urgent need for heightened road safety awareness in Malaysia and across the region. With cross-border travel common between Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia, such tragedies resonate widely. Ensuring responsible driving behavior remains essential to reducing preventable deaths, especially in community areas.
