Video shows woman nearly pinned under vehicle as group confronts driver near Punggol flat

A confrontation near Block 166A Punggol Central turned dangerous when a lorry allegedly struck a woman trying to block its path. The 60-year-old driver has been arrested and is now under investigation for rash and dangerous driving.

Tense Stand-Off in Punggol Ends in Arrest

The incident occurred around 6:30 PM on April 17, when several individuals attempted to stop a lorry at a loading bay outside Block 166A Punggol Central. A video shared by SG Road Vigilante shows the group, including a woman in white and a man in black, trying to block the lorry’s path by standing directly in front of it.

Despite the crowd’s attempts, the driver allegedly accelerated. The woman was seen pushing against the vehicle before being knocked down as it turned right. She fell backward and narrowly escaped being pinned under the front wheels before crawling away to safety. Alarmed onlookers shouted as the lorry abruptly braked.

Following the impact, the motorcyclist in black kicked the vehicle in frustration, while another man, dressed in stripes and a white cap, attempted to open the driver’s door. He later returned with a helmet and smashed the window. A fourth man in a brown hoodie also joined the chaotic scene, targeting the passenger side.

KPE Footage Reveals Earlier Road Rage Incident

The video then cuts to a sequence on the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE), which reportedly occurred before the confrontation in Punggol. It shows a motorcyclist repeatedly blocking the lorry as it switched lanes near Exits 9B and 9C. The lorry eventually stopped on the expressway, apparently forced to do so by the persistent biker.

Police confirmed that the 54-year-old woman was conscious and transported to Sengkang General Hospital. The lorry driver, 60, was arrested for committing a rash act causing hurt. He is also under investigation for dangerous driving in connection with his behavior on the expressway.

The lorry, seen bearing the Ezbuy logo, belongs to a delivery service affiliated with the cross-border e-commerce platform. Ezbuy has yet to issue a statement on the matter. The case has drawn public attention due to its aggressive escalation and the potential risk to public safety.

Police investigations are ongoing as authorities piece together the full sequence of events and assess the legal culpability of all involved parties. The incident underscores growing concerns over road rage, private confrontations, and the escalation of disputes in public areas.

The Punggol lorry incident highlights the risks of confronting vehicles in motion and the potentially devastating consequences of rash or aggressive driving. As investigations continue, the case serves as a reminder for both drivers and the public to prioritize safety and report disputes through legal channels, rather than direct confrontation.
