Police confirm no foul play after 27-year-old man’s fatal fall in Penang apartment block
A 27-year-old man was found dead after falling from the 22nd floor of an apartment in George Town, Penang, with authorities confirming no signs of criminal activity.
The incident occurred on April 3, 2025, at an apartment located in Gat Lebuh Macallum, a densely populated residential area in George Town. The victim was identified as a resident of the building, and the case has been classified as sudden death by Penang authorities.
Timur Laut deputy police chief Superintendent Lee Swee Sake confirmed the incident in a statement, stating that police received a report at approximately 5:07 PM. Preliminary investigations found no evidence of foul play either at the scene or on the victim’s body. The man was a confirmed resident of the apartment complex, further ruling out suspicions of trespassing or foul entry.
The body was subsequently sent to Penang Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the precise cause of death. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the fall, although current assessments lean strongly toward accidental or non-criminal causes.
