The new campus aims to strengthen Southeast Asia’s digital infrastructure and regional growth.

STACK Infrastructure, a leading global data center developer, has announced its first Malaysian venture with a 220MW data center campus in Johor Bahru. Scheduled for completion in 2026, this move underscores Malaysia’s rising prominence in Southeast Asia’s hyperscale digital infrastructure sector.

STACK Infrastructure’s entry into Malaysia marks a significant milestone for the country’s digital economy. The new campus in Johor Bahru, strategically located near the Singapore border, aims to address the growing demand for hyperscale infrastructure in the region.

The Johor Bahru campus, located in Iskandar Puteri, will span 10.8 hectares, with two facilities offering a combined 1 million square feet of space. The project represents an initial investment of USD 1 billion (approximately SGD 1.35 billion) and is expected to scale up to USD 10 billion (SGD 13.5 billion) in subsequent phases.

Powered by Scalable Energy Solutions

The campus will be supported by Tenaga Nasional Berhad’s (TNB) 275kV infrastructure, ensuring a reliable power supply for hyperscale clients. The first 120MW facility, featuring a multi-level external electrical yard, is scheduled to be operational by Q4 2026.

The facilities will cater to hyperscale clients, providing deployment models such as shell, build-to-suit, and turnkey solutions. The infrastructure is designed to support emerging technologies like cloud computing and artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) workloads.

Strategic Connectivity and Location

Located just 10 minutes from the Malaysia-Singapore border, the campus features redundant entry points and fiber connectivity to multiple telco networks. This strategic positioning offers seamless growth opportunities for companies expanding in the region.
