According to Tracxn’s Geo Annual Report: SEA Tech 2024, Singapore captured 67% of Southeast Asia’s total funding, raising S$3 billion (US$2.2 billion). Despite a broader regional funding decline, Singapore maintained its leadership with robust early-stage and seed funding activities.
Government Support for Startups
Singapore’s government played a pivotal role in bolstering its startup ecosystem, allocating S$440 million (US$328.5 million) to the Startup SG Equity scheme. This initiative underscores the country’s commitment to fostering innovation and supporting early-stage ventures.

Resilience Amid Regional Downturn
While Southeast Asia experienced a 59% drop in funding in 2024, Singapore remained resilient. Regional startups collectively raised S$3.43 billion (US$2.54 billion) across 420 deals, with Singapore leading. In contrast, Jakarta and Bangkok startups raised S$371 million and S$351 million, respectively.
