On October 8, 2024, the Secretary of Batam, Jefridin, conducted a detailed inspection of ongoing health facility projects in the districts of Sagulung and Batuaji, ensuring that physical work progresses as planned.
This inspection highlights the local government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure, aimed at providing accessible medical services to the residents of Sagulung and Batuaji.
Jefridin’s tour began at the construction site of the Puskesmas Sungai Pelunggut, located in Dapur 12, Sagulung, which is nearing completion with its two-story structure well underway.

Despite challenges such as weather conditions and the need for materials from outside Batam, the project adheres to the national policy of Increasing the Use of Domestic Products (P3DN), ensuring support for local industries.
Located next to a primary school, the Puskesmas is strategically placed to provide convenient healthcare access to both students and the local community, underlining its community-centered approach.
The Secretary’s visit continued to the nearly completed Posyandu in Taman Jaya Asri, Batuaji, reflecting the local government’s responsiveness to legislative suggestions and public health needs.
