ICEFF 2026 connects Batam entrepreneurs with Islamic lenders through mentoring and business pitching.
Fifty creative economy entrepreneurs in Batam have gained opportunities to access Sharia-compliant financing through a government-backed business development program, which identified potential funding worth Rp4.8 billion.
50 Batam Entrepreneurs Join ICEFF 2026
Indonesia’s Ministry of Creative Economy organized the Islamic Creative Economy Founders Fund, or ICEFF 2026, at Golden Prawn 933 in Bengkong, Batam. The program brought together 50 curated creative economy entrepreneurs and recorded potential financing of Rp4.8 billion from Sharia financial institutions. The amount represents financing opportunities subject to further assessment rather than funding automatically approved for every participant.
Entrepreneurs Prepare Businesses for Financing
Held on October 20 and 21, the two-day bootcamp was designed to improve participants’ readiness to obtain Sharia-compliant financing. Entrepreneurs received training covering business planning, creative economy funding options, Islamic financing mechanisms, and preparation of business pitch decks before progressing into mentoring sessions. Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya said businesses need both viable products and adequate business readiness to obtain appropriate financing.
Participants Pitch Directly to Financial Institutions
On the second day, participants presented their businesses directly to financial institutions, allowing their capital requirements and expansion plans to be matched with available financing schemes. Director of Funding Access Development, Financing and Investment Anggara Hayun Anujuprana said ICEFF is intended to bridge entrepreneurs’ funding needs with Sharia financial services while strengthening their ability to communicate business plans and capital requirements.
Seven Sharia Financial Institutions Support Program
ICEFF Batam was supported by the Young Entrepreneur Academy and seven financial institutions: Bank Syariah Indonesia, Bank Syariah Nasional, Pegadaian Syariah, Maybank Syariah, BRK Syariah Batam, BPRS Syariah Madani, and BPRS Vitka Central. The Ministry of Creative Economy said follow-up financing will depend on each institution’s assessment, requirements, and evaluation of participating businesses.
Batam Seeks Stronger Creative Economy Ecosystem
Batam Culture and Tourism Office Head Ardiwinata said collaboration among government, business communities, and financial institutions is important for strengthening the capacity and competitiveness of local creative economy businesses. The ministry similarly emphasized that stronger business readiness and cooperation with financial institutions are important for building a sustainable regional creative economy ecosystem.
ICEFF 2026 gives Batam entrepreneurs more than access to potential capital by preparing them to present stronger, more finance-ready businesses. For Indonesians, the Rp4.8 billion financing opportunity demonstrates how government programs can connect local creative businesses with alternative funding channels. For Singaporeans, particularly investors and businesses connected to Batam, the initiative highlights the continued development of entrepreneurship and creative industries in a neighboring regional economy.
