In a significant step towards modernizing urban development, BP Batam together with the BPN City of Batam, conducted a seminar on the latest advancements in housing and digital land titles for the Rempang Eco-City project.
On September 24, 2024, Batam’s BP Batam and the National Land Agency of Batam City held an informative session to discuss the ongoing developments in the Rempang Eco-City project. This event highlighted the transition to electronic property deeds and the construction of new homes, marking a milestone in Batam’s approach to sustainable urban planning.
The seminar was opened by Sudirman Saad, Member of the Area Management and Investment Division and Chair of the Integrated Team for Rempang Eco-City, at the BP Batam’s Balairungsari. It was attended by members of the Integrated Team, the Head of the Social Community Impact Handling Task Force, and discussed with 94 families who have moved to temporary housing.

Ponco Indro Subekti, the Director of Area Infrastructure, detailed the housing development progress, while M Hafis from the BPN Batam explained the technical aspects of issuing Electronic Property Titles, which are set to streamline property ownership documentation in the eco-city.
Sudirman Saad emphasized the increasing community support for the national strategic project, highlighting that 202 families have already relocated temporarily, with expectations for more relocations as the project progresses.
BP Batam, in collaboration with local government and ministries, is ensuring that the rights of relocated residents are protected. Initiatives include educational partnerships and vocational training in ship welding and seafood processing to enhance local employment and family welfare.

The event was used as a platform to reinforce the unity and cooperation necessary to maintain a conducive investment climate in Batam, ensuring the successful realization of the Rempang Eco-City project, which is aligned with central government directives.
