The Batam Free Trade Zone and Port Authority (BP Batam) is setting ambitious targets to develop new investment zones by 2025. This move aims to transform the Batam-Rempang-Galang area into a modern and competitive economic zone, aligned with national strategic projects.
During a recent session with Commission VI of the DPR RI in Jakarta, BP Batam outlined its strategic initiatives and budget allocations for the 2025 fiscal year. This meeting focused on integrating the budget plans with broader economic objectives to ensure comprehensive regional development.
The approved budget for BP Batam for the year 2025 amounts to approximately SGD 169.34 million, focusing on enhancing administrative operations and strategic infrastructure developments. This budget will support two main programs: Management Support and Strategic Area Development.
The Management Support program, utilizing 45.49% of the budget, is designed to streamline BP Batam’s operations. It includes various activities such as employee management, organizational structuring, maintenance, and public relations, all geared toward improving service delivery and administrative efficiency.

The Strategic Area Development program will use 54.51% of the budget. It aims to enhance the investment climate in Batam by improving logistics, licensing processes, and infrastructure development. This program is pivotal for attracting and facilitating new investments.
A significant portion of the budget is allocated to the development of Rempang Eco-City, a major project under the national strategic initiative. This project is expected to elevate Batam’s status as a key economic hub in Indonesia, focusing on sustainable and inclusive growth.
