Batam Labor Department Launches Free Training and Certification Program

The Batam City Labor Department (Disnaker) has opened a free training and certification program aimed at enhancing the competencies of Batam residents in various strategic job sectors from electricians to welders.

Announced by Rudi Syakirti, the head of Disnaker Batam, on Sunday, August 1, 2024, this initiative is part of the local government’s commitment to improving the quality of human resources in Batam. The program is designed to provide recognized certifications that can enhance participants’ job market competitiveness.

The training covers essential and high-demand fields including various levels of technical and safety-oriented professions, such as Electrician Safety (K3), Class 2 Forklift Technician, General Occupational Safety and Health (AK3), Pipe Fitter, and multiple levels of welding (6G FCAW, 6G SMAW, 6G GTAW).

Batam residents looking to advance their skills can register from September 2 to September 5, 2024. Detailed program information and the registration link are available on the Batam City Labor Department’s website.

Applicants must provide a photocopy of their ID card, an employment certificate or proof of previous work experience, a resume, and a recent color photograph. For the General AK3 certification, a minimum of a diploma-level education (D1) is required.
